Catillac Reys, sired by Metallic Cat and shown by Adan Banuelos for Todd and Elizabeth Quirk’s Ten/27 Ranch, Denham Springs, La., scored 225.5 points for the reserve championship and $34,825. In addition to his NCHA earnings, Catillac Reys also received the $100,000 Metallic Cat Incentive awarded by the show’s sponsor, Metallic Cat, owned by Rocking P Ranch., Fort Worth, Tex. The incentive is open to anyone who owns a Metallic Cat 4-year-old and has a 2018 contract to breed to the stallion, excluding re-breeds.
Reserve champion Catillac Reys was bred by Michelle Cannon by Metallic Cat out of Tootsie Rey, a $200,000 earner by Dual Rey.
Catillac Reys was a Non-Pro semi-finalist at the NCHA Futurity with Elizabeth Quirk, and carried on as an Open finalist with Hall of Famer Adan Banuelos at the Bonanza, Abilene and Arbuckle Mountain, and in the Non-Pro division with Quirk at The Ike, Abilene, and Arbuckle Mountain.
